After years of struggle, married couple Carl and Donna Hodges are finally starting to get ahead. They've just bought their first house and things are looking good.

But fate is a vindictive bitch, and when a riot breaks out in a neighboring city, Carl, Donna and their visiting friends shred the envelope of what they thought they were capable of.
